Stanley George "Stan" Evans (born 14 July 1930) is a former South Australian Liberal politician.
He held the seat of Onkaparinga from 1968 to 1970, then Fisher from 1970 to 1985.[1]
A 1983 electoral redistribution turned Fisher into a marginal seat, with much of the old Fisher moving into the safe Liberal seat of Davenport. Evans failed to win Liberal pre-selection for Davenport, but stood as an Independent Liberal at the 1985 election and won the seat, temporarily forcing Dean Brown out of politics.[2][3]
He nevertheless maintained his Liberal Party membership, as the Liberals did not at that time have a policy for expelling members who opposed endorsed candidates.[4] He then stood in the 1989 election as the endorsed Liberal candidate for Davenport.[1] He retired at the 1993 election, allowing his son Iain Evans to take the seat.[5]
